THE TORN SOUL

I lie in the shadows,
between the morally righteous and sinfully delighted.
I am torn between virtue and temptation,
both equally unjust for the human soul.
It is a choice to fall upon the sword in sacrifice,
or wield it upon the pitfall of human need.
I call upon salvation to guide me,
for I am the right hand of God, and left hand of the Devil.
I call upon thee to guide me in the right direction,
but I know I am damned in any path that I follow.
