I found myself watching “Hogan Knows Best”, the reality show on VH1 based on the day in the life of Terry “Hulk” Hogan and his family. I was actually surprised how tone downed he is now, since getting out of wrestling, but to see his other family members is quite intriguing. I was actually expecting to see “The Osbornes” but the Hogans are complete opposites!

As we should know, Hulk Hogan is the best-known wrestler there is. I was watching the episode last night in which he was being inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame. I was amazed at seeing some the of wrestlers that were there, which some included the Iron Sheik, Rowdy Rider Piper, and St. Slaughter. Hogan tells the camera that he looked at all the older wrestlers there and said that he looked better than all of them, which I totally agreed with that!

After that I was just thinking to myself that I compare Hulk Hogan to Babe Ruth of wrestling. Why you ask? Well before Hogan, wrestling was an art form…..more wrestling than entertainment (in a matter of speaking). There were tons of different wrestling forums but no common face to them. Now, wrestling is more art as in entertainment than wrestling, consisting of more acting and drama than the sport itself. And the middle of this was Hulk Hogan. He brought this art to it’s pinnacle when he came in and brought his flare and face. When you watched him, you knew in the back of your mind it was fake, but you couldn’t help being put on the edge of your seat watching him. As a kid, I enjoyed watching WWF and Hogan, but these days, since he has been gone, there is nothing it does for me. He was the biggest star of it all, the Babe Ruth, and I think wrestling owes him so much for it.
