Christmas Wishes and the New Year coming!

Well, I hope everyone had a good Christmas this year. Mine as usual was nothing exciting. For Christmas Eve, I went down to Newport News to my grandmother's place to have dinner with my dad's family. Then for Christmas, we had dinner with my mom's family. For Christmas, I received some clothes, a vacuum cleaner (for my house), a couple of DVD's, gift cards, and towels. However, for my birthday, I did not get my wish, as the previous entry stated. Oh well, maybe next year.

On that Friday after Christmas, I came to work but only 5 other people on my floor came to work. I had to come since my co-worker, Dana, was off and we are the only two people who fax orders for the vendors. It was a good thing though because my parents went up to my house and worked on it. Speaking of which, by the end of Saturday, we finished putting all the plywood on the roof, the skylights in, putting tar sheets on the roof, and some of the brick around the house finished. By today, the bricklayers finished the whole thing of putting all the bricks in.

On Sunday, after church, I went to see The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Ring. It was incredible! The battle scenes are amazing and epic. I want to see it again. I actually went to see it alone, because my girlfriend had to work on Sunday. Funny story is that I didn't know that she had to work until the morning service was over with and I asked her what she wanted to do. When she told me she had to work, I got the idea of racing to see the 11:45 showing of it and leaving to get tickets a few minutes of that. I just raced into the fellowship hall, while she was eating brunch, told her I'm going to see the movie, and raced out while just hugging her and kissing her on the head. Nice of me, right?

I found out a friend of mine just got engaged on Friday. I'm so happy for her. Another friend of mine is thinking about building a house with her boyfriend and is thinking about getting married too. Everybody I know is getting engaged or married now! I feel so left behind! Someday......maybe!

I just like to say that I want to welcome my "complex yet intriguing" friend, if she is reading this. ;)

It's my 26th birthday today. Yeah, whatever. Nothing really exciting happens on my birthday anyway. I did get milk duds from my co-worker, Dana! I love the stuff! I also got a little Star Wars Legos scene from my other co-worker Rachel. Those two gifts made my day! My girlfriend Loreley gave me a Star Wars book that I wanted the other day. I got home from work just now to find that most of my family had called to wish me a Happy Birthday. I'm glad to know that I wasn't forgotten though.

I have to say there's only one that I really want on my birthday. BIRTHDAY SEX!!!! I'm still waiting for that to come true!

What's going on?

Ah, yes, what is going on. I'll start with the house. Yesterday, we started by moving all the trusses around for an hour. Those were extremely heavy! We got them all moved, we began to build one of the side walls. After that, we worked on the interior walls for the bathroom and both bedrooms. Once we finished those, we worked on the trusses. Before I left, we were able to put up four of them.

When I left, I was going to get ready for my company Christmas dinner. I had to go to my aunt's down the road to get ready (even though they weren't home) and went to pick up Loreley. We got there near 7, chatted a bit with my co-workers, and then sat down at at table that included my friend Rachel and her husband, My boss Jason and his, and Darryl who is also in the same department with me. Dinner for me included grilled chicken, a couple of pieces of steak (small pieces), grilled patatos, and bread.
When everybody finished dinner, they called out door prizes. I was the first one to win a prize, which was a 100 dollar gift certificate to The Aberdeen Barn! I was disappointed because I didn't win the 300 dollar gift certificate to Best Buy! We also had a gift swap for those employees that wanted to give something. The gift I bought was a box of liquor filled chocolates, which Mark, the head of the Marketing Dept. picked up. I got a rookie card of Sammy Sosa, which happened to be the gift that my boss Jason got. Only four guys participated in the gift swap, so when we went up to get the gifts, Jason was telling me to get that particular gift!
After the gift swap, people started to dance. I actually danced myself....well not very well...but I did dance and I had a great time!!!! Loreley was laughing at me because I didnt' have any rhythem! She was in ballet so she loves to dance! She was trying to teach me something, I think swing, for a while but I didn't have the right footwork! The night ended around 10, when everybody was beginning to leave, and I took Loreley home.

Today, it's been snowing and raining outside. Church was cancelled from the ice. We are still going to a birthday dinner for a cousin today.

Other stuff!!!!

I like to say that I am sadden to know that Jennicam is ending! I found her site while in college. I loved it watching her cam! I told my friends about it and they started watching it. They even got me a year's subscription for it which was great! I'm so disappointed that she is finally ending it after seven years. She was the forerunner of the webcam era! I will sorely miss watching her life!

I would also like to send a big ole shout out to Flickerchick. She wrote about me in her journal that thank me for writing to her. I know she's busy but I sent her an email to wish her luck with things.

Also, they caught the rat bastard!!! Saddam has been captured alive. And boy does he look like shit!

A funny thing happened at work yesterday. An earthquake happened. I was at my cubicle when I felt the whole place shake. At first, I thought it was a plane since there is an airport about a mile away or it a black ops helicopter passing over us going to the government building next to us. A few of us had to get up and rush to the window and see for ourselves, though nothing was visable. We then began to hear reports on the radio that the epicenter was just south of us at 4.5 on the richter scale. As I was leaving work, I was hearing on the radio that the earthquake was felt as far south as North Carolina, as far Noarth as Northern Va and Maryland. I'm beginning to wonder how safe it is to live around here since we've been getting alot of earthquakes. My only theory is......THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

Quote of the day!

The Quote of the day actually comes from my mom. Today we spent the day working on my house. At one point, she looks at me and says to me, "You look like your from Iran!" I was dumbfounded. The only explaination for that statement would have be because I have been growing a beard for about a week now and I look scruffy! I chuckled and just said, "Na, I think I look like an Iraqi!" She just gave me a dumbfounded look and chuckled a bit.
