Size does matter!

Yes, it is finally confirmed.....an extra 2 inches does matter!

Two inches matter with the height of the bar that is. I've been arguing with my mother about what the height of the bar should be in my house. She wants it at the height that it is right now. As for me, I want it 2 inches higher because it allows the recepticles to be out of the back splash, therefore no water can get into them. Her reasoning behind the smaller height......her family is short and wouldn't be able to reach over the bar! Well, mom, I take safety over convienence. Besides....it's my house, ain't it?

I've come to the conclusion of what my problem is now! It's because I think too much! Seriously....if you don't believe me, read the previous journal entry. I have to stop thinking and start doing!

But is that really my problem?

Pondering thought

I'm curious.....why is it normal to kiss/make out with your eyes closed? And if you do open your eyes, and your boyfriend/girlfriend sees this, why does it freak them out? Sometimes I've found myself opening my eyes while kissing....even though its not normal! You think it would be good to watch the other person to see if you are a good kisser or not. Even with sex.....shouldn't you watch your lover so you can observe how he/she reacts to certains movements and touches, so you can be a better lover, right? Maybe I'm just naive!

Anyway...just wanted to continue with the poems. My favorite is actually one that my grandfather wrote over 50 years ago. This is it.

That's Me Without You

A night with no moonlight;
A day with no sun;
A plane with no pilot;
A watch that won't run.
A tree with no branches;
A rose with no petals;
A boy with no sweetheart;
That's me without you.

A train with no whistle;
A car with no gas;
A well with no water;
A show with no cast.
A love with no future;
A sky with no blue;
A boy with no sweetheart;
That's me without you.

A bank with no money;
A top that won't spin;
A book with no story;
A love I can't win.
A chair with no bottom;
A rig with no crew;
A song with no music;
That's me without you.

A court with no jury;
A church with no pew;
A boy with no sweetheart;
That's me without you.

The Day is coming.....

So, the day is getting closer which I’m dreading. It comes and goes every year…..and each time it gets worse. That day is…..St. Valentine’s Day!
Yes…that sacred day of love. Why do we set aside one day of the year to celebrate something that we should do everyday? I know it can be complicated to be romantic every day or try to be. It takes work and patience. But what do I know…..I’ve always been single every time Valentine’s Day roles around. It’s a Hallmark holiday that makes people spend money and makes those that don’t have someone special like crap. Who wants that?
But I digress. Now I may complain about this hallmark holiday, but I’m sure if I had that someone special, I would do something extraordinary or romantic. I would hope that doing something for one day doesn’t reflect on my emotional and romantic sentiment for the rest of the year with a special love. I don’t know if I had my chance to express it yet or remember doing it. Actually though, I do remember my most romantic moment for me, and it fell on a day that no one expect….Halloween. I might tell that story later but I just wanted to express my opinion for St. Valentine’s Day.

I will share some poetry this week that I’ve written before. I’m sure many have read them before but I will share them again for this week that relates to the subject of St. Valentine’s Day.

Awaiting

I await for her,
My true love to be.
Ever so patiently,
Along the path of eternity.
I know not her name never spoken,
Nor her presence never felt.
But by will of God or simple fate,
I will meet my life’s true soul mate.
The time will come to pass,
When angel’s sing and the heavens part.
My true love is close by the telling,
By the heavy beating of my heat.

Quote of the evening

"It's like the circus came to town and somebody let the monkey's loose!"

It's been one of those weeks where there has been too much going on. At work especially, family issues, and me just being frustrated. A lot of drama going on. I need a vacation!
